Corrections, Security, Law & Law Enforcement

Intro to LPSS provides students with knowledge of occupations available in Law, Public safety and security fields and introduces them to the legal system, professional conduct, safety and types of crime.

Law enforcement 1 and 2 will provide skills and knowledge needed if persuing a career in law enforcement.

Students will learn about the administration of justice, basic court system procedures and law enforcement practices.

Employment of legal assistants is projected to grow 8% from 2014 to 2024. The median annual wage was $42,792 in August 2019.

Employment of emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics is projected to grow 24% from 2014 to 2024. The average annual wage was $31,980 in August 2019.

Employment of police officers is projected to grow 4% from 2014-2024. The median annual wage in Kansas was $46,170 in August 2019.



Government and Public Administration

The Government and Public Administration pathway includes training for potential elected or appointed government officials. This pathway will offer training for several elected officials from city council to the President of the United States. It would also include the staff members who support those elected officials in carrying out their official duties.
